NHBC Sholarship Awards

2015 NHBC Sholarship Presentation

It was a big night for two lucky (read that, hard working) students from Northwestern Regional High School #7 on Thursday, June 25th, 2015, at Ski Sundown.  They each walked away with a $5,000 scholarship raised by the local New Hartford Businesses and the community at large, that attended our Valentine's Day Wine Tasting and our Comedy Night.

Jakrin Lanphouthacoul and Casey Stotler proved that hard work really does pay off.

New Hartford Businesses are Booming!

The Hoffman Hardware building in New Hartford Center is home to some new tenants.

The economy in the state in general might be slow to recovery but the town of New Hartford is certainly doing its part to boost the economic growth in the state.

A recent walk-about town revealed much to be excited about, for businesses, building owners, customers and visitors to town. The Hoffman Building is undergoing major renovations and their first new tenant is going to be very happy in their new location. The Peter Bakker Insurance Agency will be on the left hand side of the building and will have gorgeous new windows to look out of. The replacement of the floor to ceiling windows with ones that add charm to an already quaint downtown look wonderful.

The Comedy Show Was A Hit!

Bumper car people

On a pleasant spring evening in April of 2015, a number of people looking for a good time, came out to SKi Sundown in New Hartford to enjoy a comedy show to benefit the NHBC Scholarship Fund.

We think they found their good time and then some. The laughter filled the building and it seemed as though noone was ready to leave when the show was over. Three acts performed for over two hours. What a special treat to see class acts right here close to home.

NHBC Valentine's Day Wine Tasting

The New Hartford Business Council hosted it's first Valentine's Day Wine Tasting on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the Pine Meadow Fire House as a fundraiser for the NHBC Scholarship Fund.

There were over 85 people in attendance and we raised over $1700.00.  Thank you to everyone who donated goods or services, purchased tickets and helped run this event.  Without your hard work and participation it would not have been as successful as it was.

NHBC Dues Increase

Dear Members of the New Hartford Business Council,

As in all businesses and organizations, one of our priorities is to keep costs at the lowest possible impact to all. For longer than I have been a member, the dues for joining just the Business Council has been at $75.00.

In order to maintain and raise our level of service to our members, it is necessary to raise our dues by $10.00 per year. The primary reason for the increase is due to the following expenses:  website, insurance, our events  (business after hours and monthly morning minglers), the scholarship program (with a goal of increasing that support) and advertising. Our biggest expense is maintenance of our website and a major overhaul of our insurance coverage.
